William Landis of Oakland graduated from Oberlin College in 1951.
His paintings are in private collections around the world, and he often
writes about visual art. He has resided in Andalusia, Puerto Vallarta,
Amsterdam, and Mykonos. Will says, "I look for landscape inside the visual,
and music inside silences, for tangled words that rescue things to celebrate."
His awards include the Poet's Dinner Grand Prize in 2001, among others,
and he has been published widely. His first book, Noguchi et al,
was published in 2002. He is currently working on a new book,
Magritte Dismembered. His group, The Museum Poets,
has been meeting monthly for some fifteen years.
