Dr. Stephen Sadler studied biochemistry and physics at the University of Arizona. He necessarily writes from the dual perspectives of Buddhism and bipolarity, of the worlds we all inhabit. In spite of whatever apparent weight there is in that, he insists that what others perceive as an almost clinical quirkiness is, rather, a delightful sense of humor. His awards include the Dorothy Tyrrel Memorial Grand Prize, Herbert & Eunice Kirschner Prize, Thomas C. Berry prize, Ad Schuster Memorial Citation, and Gita R. Specker Poetry Prize.
Some comments on Stephen's poetry:
"(his) poetry contains meaning on so many different levels."
~ Al Young, Pushcart winner, author of Drowning in the Sea of Love"...wonderful and evocative imagery."
~ Kim Addonizio, Pushcart winner, author of The Philosopher's Club"...hangs (his) poetry on a prose-like structure, with a definite logic that
heightens the surprise as the turns are revealed."
~ Dorianne Laux, Pushcart winner, author of What We Carry: Poems
