About Jeanne Watson

JC Watson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during that city's demise, the third of seven children. She was a daydreaming kid who hated school and married at nineteen because she didn't know what else to do.

She began writing poetry when she was 12 and has been fortunate enough to have studied with Bob Hass, Richard Maxwell, Frances Mayes, Galway Kinnell, and Sharon Olds. She has published some 200 poems in such publications as Americas Review, Santa Clara Review, Chester H. Jones, The Crone, Iowa Woman, Backwoods Home, Bellowing Ark, The Montserrat Review, The University of Alabama.

She also writes fiction and has published a short story in Bellowing Ark and has a novel, Current Wisdom coming out in Spring of 2005.

Up until November of 2004, she has taught autistic children through agencies or through the school system. She is also a tutor to a Mexican-American Family.
